    Torquay - £899,999 Situated in the desirable Wellswood area of Torquay, The Lodge is an imposing detached residence set within attractive gardens and grounds which extend to c. 0.17 ha / 0.43 acres and include a large swimming pool. Currently arranged as a spacious private home, the original Victorian element of the building has been sympathetically extended in an Arts and Crafts style. The property includes many character stonework features, a panelled drawing room and a large kitchen with four oven Aga cooker.


    The property was constructed as the original Lodge House for Wellswood Hall, a grand home which dominated the local area from its construction in 1840 until being sold off in 1932. The Hall itself was sold off in 1932 and eventually demolished in 1975, with houses being constructed on its original site in Marlborough Avenue.
